“ScaleUp Britain’ chooses Glasgow Tech Week to launch nationwide event series”
A review of the Glasgow ScaleUp Britain summit, in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde at the Technolgy and Innovation Centre.
Alisdair Gunn, Director, Glasgow City Innovation District, organisers of Glasgow Tech Week, said of the event: “Scaleups are an engine of economic prosperity, and having the ScaleUp Britain conference as one of Glasgow Tech Week’s key events, plays a crucial role in shaping our economic landscape.”

“Powering up female founders. A new index of female-founded businesses to have broken through the £50m turnover threshold has brought some key issues into focus.”
Scotland’s scaling scene is profiled in the ScaleUp Institute’s latest Scotland ScaleUp Index and shows that in 2024 there were 2,140 scale-ups, with aggregate turnover of more than £40bn, employing more than 170,000 people. More than 500 had broken through to become visible businesses. Glasgow and Edinburgh were home to the highest concentration of scale-ups, with 685 and 625 respectively.

A review of the North East ScaleUp Britain summit, beginning at the Port of Tyne National Maritime Innovation Hub and concluding at Newcastle University Business School.
